How to Be an Atheist?

An atheist is someone that does not believe in gods or deities. Just like religious people, atheists have their own boundaries, beliefs, and ethical stances, and any two atheists may exercise their lack of religion in completely different ways. In order to be an atheist, you must decide what it means to you to live without religion — whether your background is religious or secular. You must define your own morals, face your own mortality, and figure out how to respectfully explain your beliefs to your religious peers.

History of Atheism

Atheism has existed in various forms for well over two thousand years, but became a culturally powerful movement only in the past two centuries. Several ancient philosophers, such as Democritus and Epicurus, disputed the existence of the popular Greek and Roman gods or at least questioned their involvement in human affairs. Sextus Empiricus advocated an extreme form of skepticism that was also atheistic. The Enlightenment, an intellectual and cultural movement emerging toward the end of the eighteenth century, rejected the Bible and any other revelation and insisted on unguided human reason as the sole authority in all matters of knowledge. Enlightenment thinkers tended at first to hold to Deism, the belief that a Creator God made the universe but has no further involvement in it, but its method led quickly to atheism.

What is Atheism?

Atheism is, in the broadest sense, the absence of belief in the existence of deities. Less broadly, atheism is the rejection of belief that any deities exist. In an even narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Atheism is contrasted with theism, which, in its most general form, is the belief that at least one deity exists.

The term atheism originated from the Greek ἄθεος (atheos), meaning "without god(s)", used as a pejorative term applied to those thought to reject the gods worshiped by the larger society.

Why Do Atheists Debate Theists?

There is a common perception that there must be something more to atheism than simply disbelief in gods because of the fact that atheists are so often engaged in debates with theists. After all, what’s the point of debating if not to convert someone to some other philosophy or religion? It is, then, legitimate to ask why atheists get involved in such debates and what they hope to achieve. Does this indicate that atheism is some sort of philosophy or even a religion? 

Being Atheist

Being an Atheist simply means I recognise the fact that every god ever created by ancient men are just that, creations of men to serve their purposes.No religious claims of their gods have ever been proven with any factual information outside of their own books saying their gods are real. There are books about Batman and Spiderman and others, and stories about their acts are written, so why don't you try to telepathically summon up their help when you need it?

Reading their books as I have makes it obvious their gods were as ignorant as the men who wrote them in stating things that not only

have easily been disproved by Science, but as well as accurately researched historical data from ancient scholars and historians that make no such references to any of their claimed events or their gods supposedly creating the events.

भरमको खेती

हाम्रो देश/समाजको विकासलाई रोकर राख्ने थुप्रै मुद्दाहरु छन् जस मध्येको ‘भरम’ पनि एउटा ठुलो मुद्दा नै हो। भरम बिभिन्न तरीकाले हाम्रो समाजमा छरिएको छ। कतै धरमको नाममा त कतै नस्लीय जातिको नाममा त कतै उचनिचको नाममा त कतै फोहोर राजनीतीको नाममा छरिएको छ। मैले अरु भरम भन्दा पनि धरमको भरमलाई यस लेखमा बढ़ी चर्चा गर्न चाहे किन कि मेरो बिचारमा सबै भरमको मूल जड़ा धरमको भरम नै हो जस्तो मलाई लाग्छ। वास्तवमा हाम्रो समाजको अधिकांस भागमा बस्ने व्यक्तिहरु धरमको दास नै छन्। हाम्रो पौराणिक धर्म-ग्रन्थहरुमा जे लेखेका छन् चाहे त्यो सही होस् अथवा गलत नै किन नहोस् त्यसलाई आखाँ चिमलेर मान्ने हामी सोझा-साझा जनताको प्रवृती नै छ। झन त्यस भरमलाई यो समाजबाट हटाउनुपर्छ भनेर खासै कोहि लागेका पनि छैनन् र जो लागेका पनि छन् त्यसलाई यो समाजले बिभिन्न तरीकाले दबाउन मै व्यस्त छन्। 

Spectrum of probabilities of human judgements about the existence of God.

1. Strong theist. 100 percent probability of God. In other words , 'I do not believe, I know.'
2. Very high probability but short of 100 per cent. De facto theist. 'I cannot know for certain, but I strongly believe in God and live my life on the assumption that he is there.'
3. Higher than 50 per cent but not very high. Technically agnostic but leaning towards theism. 'I am very uncertain, but I am inclined to believe in God.'

"भगवान" कि "प्रकृती"

भगवानले हामीलाई बनाएको होइन , हामीले भगवानलाई बनाएका हौ । हामीलाई त प्रकृतिले बनाएको हो र हामीले त्यसलाई पूजा पनि गर्नु पर्दैन, मात्र प्रकृतिमा संतुलन बनाए भैहाल्यो नि । कतिपय मान्छेलाई लागिरहेको होला की कसैले त यो ब्रह्ममाण्ड बनाएको होला , कमसेकम त्यसको त पूजा गर्नु पर्यो ।यदि तेस्तो सोच्दै हुनुहुन्छ भने तपाई गलत हुनुहुन्छ किनभने यो ब्रहमाण्ड यदि कसैले बनाएको पनि छ भने त्यो निर्जीब बस्तु (non-living mass) बाट बनेको हुनसक्दछ र त्यो निर्जीब बस्तु सँग हामीलाई डराउनु पनि पर्दैन किनभने त्यो निर्जीब बस्तु संग हामी जस्तो सोच्न सक्ने दिमाग पनि छैन र उसलाई यो पनि थाहा छैन की मैले के बनाए ,किन बनाए, कसका लागि बनाए र कति समयको लागि बनाए। तेसैले यस्ता वाहियात कुरो मा समय नबेर्थ गरिकन आफ्नो मानव सभ्यता र आफु बसिरहेको प्रकृतिलाई कसरी राम्रो बनाउने हो तेसमाथि जोर दिईयो भने राम्रो हुन्थ्यो होला ।

Boundary Limitations for the Existence of God

If god exists , then its existence is only possible within the two boundary limitations and they are:

(a) inside the human brain, or

(b) outside of this universe.

There is not any probability for the existence of god between "outside the human brain" and "inside of this universe".If you find any people believing the nature as a god then either he/she is being fooled or he/she is trying to make other fool.

What is existence? Is it something like what people call God?

Existence is that which is, and God is that which is not. Existence is a reality, God is a fiction.Existence is available only to meditators, people of silence; God is a consolation for sick minds, sick psychologies. Existence is not your production – God is. That's why there is only one existence, but thousands of gods. Each according to his needs, each according to his suffering, each according to his expectations, creates a god or accepts an old belief about God.

God is a great consolation, but it is not a cure. Existence is not a consolation. To be in tune with it is to be healthy and whole. All the religions of the world have been teaching God; I teach you existence. I teach you to be in tune with that which surrounds you, which is within you and without you. Once you are in tune with it, there is no death for you, no misery, no tension, no worry, but a tremendous peace surrounds you, a contentment which you have never even dreamed of.

जसरी नेपालमा मधेशीहरुलाई नामको लागि मात्र नेपाली भन्ने गरिन्छ, त्यसरी नै हिन्दू धर्मंमा पनि ब्राह्मण वर्ण बाहेकका लाई नामको लागि मात्र हिन्दू भन्ने गरिन्छ। झन ब्राह्मण र क्षेत्री बाहेक को त कुरै छाड़दिनुस्।ब्राह्मण र क्षेत्री बाहेकका हिन्दुहरूले आफुलाई हिन्दू धर्म मान्ने व्यक्ति मान्नु भनेको आफ्नै खुट्टामा आफैले बन्चरो हान्नु भन्दा कम नहोला।मेरो बिचारमा जति वटा जातिहरु समाजमा बनाइएको छ त्यती वटा नै धर्म हुनुपर्दछ। यदि धर्मं एउटा बनाउनु छ भने जाती पनि एउटै बनाउनु पर्दछ र त्यो जातिको नाम मानव र धर्मको नाम मानवता राख्नुपर्दछ, कि कसो?

RELIGION IS JUST A DANGEROUS VIRUS

I think of religion is a dangerous virus. It is a virus which is transmitted not only from teachers and clergy but also down the generation from parent to the child and the grand child. Children are especially vulnerable to the infection by the virus of religion. A child is genetically pre-programmed to accumulate knowledge from figures of authority. The child brain will automatically believe what its told, even if what is told, is nonsense. Then when the child grows up, it will tend to pass on that same nonsense to its children and also so on the religion goes on from the generation to generation.

Religion is a insult to human dignity. Without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for the good people to do evil things, it takes religion.Also, when one person suffers from a delusion, it is called Insanity and when many people suffer from a delusion, it is called Religion.

जातिवाद र धरमको भरम

इंडियन प्लेटमा बर्षौ देखि चलिआईरहेको जातिय गुलामी जस्तो भयंकर गुलामी तपाईले बिश्वको कुनै कुनामा भेटाउन सकनु हुन्न । अरु ठाउँमा त श्रमको आधारमा गुलामी हुनेगदर्छ तर यहाँ त सीधै मान्छेको मानशिक स्थिति संग खेलवाड़ गरिदै छ। भनिन्छ कि ब्रिटिशहरुले इंडियन प्लेटमा आएर "DIVIDE AND RULE" गर्यो रे तर वास्तवमा ब्रिटिशहरु इंडियन प्लेटमा आउनु भन्दा कयौ बर्ष अगाडी देखि नै ब्राह्मणवादीहरुले समाजलाई अनेकौ जातजातिमा बिभाजन गरिसकेका थिए र त्यस बिभाजित समाजमा एउटा जातिलाई अर्को जाति संग कसरी झगडा लगाउने तीर उनीहरूले दिमाग खेलाउन थाले र बिभाजित समाजलाई भगवानको नाममा , धर्मको नाममा राज गर्न तीर लागि पडे। ब्राह्मणवादीहरुले कयौ बर्ष अगाडी नै फैलाएको बिष अहिले आएर क्षेत्रीवादीहरूले कम गर्नुको सट्टा झन त्यो बिषलाई समाजमा छर्न तिर लागि पडेका छन् र यो जातीय गुलामीको बिषलाई कसले अन्त्य गर्न तिर लाग्ने होला त्यसको संकेतहरु पनि समाजमा खोतेल्न मलाई गा्हो नै भैरहेको छ ।

जातिवाद

"An eye for an eye makes the world blind." 

 यो कुरो इंडियन प्लेटेमा हजारौं साल पहिले नै जातिवाद मार्फत लागु भैसकेको थियो र अहिले पनि अधिकांश मानिसहरु यस विषयमा अन्धो नै छन् । जातिवादलाई अगाडी बढाउने मुख्य वाद " ब्राह्मणवाद " हो । आफुलाई विद्वान ठान्ने ब्राह्मणहरुले आफ्नो जातीय स्वार्थको लागि धेरै अगाडी नै समाजलाई अनेक जातजातीमा बिभाजन गरिसकेका थिए जसमा उनिहरुले आफुलाई अग्र श्रेणीमा राखेका थिए , जसले हाम्रो समाजलाई अहिले सम्म पीडा दिईरहेको छ । भारत र नेपाल जस्तो देशमा अहिले सम्म पनि ब्राह्मणबाद नै चलिरहेको छ र जुन गुलामी अमेरिकामा २००/३०० साल अगाडी गोरा र काला का बिच भईरहेको थियो , त्यो भन्दा त कयौ गुना बढ़ी गुलामी जातिवाद मार्फ़त हाम्रो समाजमा अहिले पनि चलिरहेको छ । सायद जातिवाद नै मुख्य कारण होला जसको कारणले हाम्रो समाज यति धेरै पछाडि परेको छ र यसलाई सही समय मै हटाईएन भने फेरी पनि बाहिरी शक्तिले हामीलाई अनेकौ तरिकाले गुलाम बनाउदैन भने भन्न सकिदैन ।

धर्म र नशा

धर्म र नशा मा खासै केहि फरक छैन । फरक यती मात्र छ कि नशाले मान्छेको शारीरिक स्वास्थलाई बढ़ी असर पार्छ भने धर्मले मानशिक स्वास्थलाई बढ़ी असर पार्छ । यि दुइटै कुरोले मान्छेको समस्याको समाधान कहिले गर्न सक्दैन । मान्छे धार्मिक हुनुको मतलब उसले नशा गरेझै बाहरी दुनियालाई खाली नाटक गरेझै हेराउनु मात्र हो । तसर्थ: नशा गर्नाले मानिस कहिले पनि पूर्ण रुपले समस्या मुक्त हुदैन यसले केहि बेरको लागि समस्यालाई बिर्सिने ढोंग गर्न मद्दत मात्र गर्दछ । 

जुन समाजको मानिस जति धेरै धार्मिक हुन्छ त्यो समाजमा तेतिनै कम मान्छे माथि उठन सक्छन् किनभने त्यो समाजमा वास्तविकता माथि कसैले जोर दिन खोज्दैनन् र के भैरहेको छ,किन भैरहेको छ ,यस्ता प्रस्न आफ्नो दिमाग भित्र नखेलाइकन आँखा चिमलेर जे.पि.टि. मान्न थाल्छ जसलाई अन्धबिश्वाश पनि भनिन्छ । अहिलेको समयमा त्यो पनि हाम्रो जस्तो देशमा मान्छेहरुलाई धार्मिक बाट यथार्थवादी बनाउनु एउटा ठूलो चुनौती भन्दा केहि कम छैन।

सत्यको खोजी र भरमले भरिएको मन्दिर

यदि तपाई कतै मन्दिर तिर सत्यको खोजिमा लाग्दै हुनुहुन्छ भने तपाई यो नसोच्नुस् कि तपाईले समातेको बाटो सही छ, झन तपाई आफुलाई सत्यको बाटोभन्दा टाढा धकेल्दै हुनुहुन्छ र जानेर वा नजानेर तपाई आफुलाई भरम को बाटोमा लग्दै हुनुहुन्छ जसले भविष्यमा गएर तपाईको सोच्न सक्ने दिमागलाई झन सानो बनाउनमा मद्दत पुर्याउने छ ।

त्यसैले कतै लाग्नु भन्दा पहिला आफुलाई हजार पल्ट सोधनुस् कि मैले समातेको बाटो सही छ कि छैन।तसर्थ: यदि तपाईलाई सत्यको बाटो समातनु छ भने जहिले पनि आफ्नो दिलको सुन्नुस् र साँचो बोल्ने सोच तिर लाग्नुस्।

किन इंडियन प्लेटेको कुनै देश हिन्दू राष्ट्र बन्न सकिरहेको छैन ?

यदि हिन्दू धर्मं साच्चै नै राम्रो धर्म हो भने हिन्दू राष्ट्र भइसकेको देश "नेपाल" लाई किन धर्म निरपेक्ष राष्ट्र बनाइएको छ । त्यस्तै इंडिया जब ब्रिटिस हुकूमतबाट स्वतन्त्रता पायो त्यपछि इंडियालाई हिन्दुस्तान र पाकिस्तान बनाउने सोच अघि सर्यो । जस मध्ये पाकिस्तान त बन्यो तर हिन्दुस्तान चै अहिले सम्म किन बन्न सकिरहेको छैन । केहि कमि कमजोरीहरु पक्कै होला हिन्दू धर्ममा , जसको कारणले इंडियन प्लेटका अधिकांश हिन्दूहरु आफनै धर्मलाई ख़राब भनिरहेका छन् र आफुलाई हिन्दू राष्ट्रको नागरिक कहलाउन तैयार छैनन् ।

प्रकृतिको नियम र हिन्दू धर्मको अवस्था

प्रकृतिको नियमले के भन्छ भने यस प्रकृतिमा बस्ने सम्पूर्ण मानिस लगायत जनावर,माछा बोटबिरुवा,कीरा,कीटाणु,भाइरस,इत्यादिहरु यदि समय र वातावरण अनुसार आफुलाई अपडेट गर्न सकेन भने उसको अस्तित्व एकनएक दिन ढुक्क हराउनेछ । तेस्तै इस्थिति हाम्रो हिन्दूधर्मको पनि भविष्यमा गएर हुदैन भन्ने भन्न सकिदैन।भनिन्छ कि सबैभन्दा पुरानो धर्म हिन्दूधर्म नै हो तर यस धर्तीमा भएको सबै धर्महरु मध्ये सबैभन्दा ख़राब र अन्धबिश्वासले भरिएको धर्म हिन्दू धर्मलाई नै भनिन्छ ।तै भएर होला पहिला मुस्लिमहरु र तेस पछि क्रिस्चियनहरु आएर इंडियन प्लेटेमा राज गरे।

तसर्थ हामी सबैलाई समय अनुसार ढाल्न सिक्नु पर्छ  र आफ्नो धर्म,संस्कृति,परम्परा,इत्यादिलाई समय अनुसार अपडेट गर्न सिक्नु पर्छ नत्र भने हामी सबलाई थाहा भइसकेको होला कि भविष्यमा गएर हाम्रो धर्म,संस्कृति,परम्परा,इत्यादिलाई पूरै अर्को ठाउँको धर्म,संस्कृति,परम्परा,इत्यादिले प्रतिस्थापन (replace) गर्नेछ।

भगवान र मान्छेको सोच

भगवान छ भन्ने सोच मान्छेले नै ल्याएको हो र यसलाई एकनएक दिन मान्छेले नै हटाउनेछ । यसलाई हटाउन समय कति लाग्छ भन्ने अहिले ठ्याकै भन्न सकिदैन तर हट्छ भन्ने ढुक्क छ ।

पूजा कि ध्यान

एक घण्टा लाइनमा लागेर मात्र १०/१५ सेकण्डको लागि कुनै मूर्तीलाई फूल अगरबत्ती चढ़ाउनु भन्दा राम्रो बिहानै उठेर १०/१५ मिनेट आफ्नो कोठा मै बसेर ध्यान (meditation) गर्यो भने १००० गुणा बढी फलदायी हुन्छ ।

मान्छेको रूप र भगवानको मूर्ती

हिन्दू धर्ममा भगवानको कमी छैन।हामी बस्ने समाजको जुन ठाउँमा पनि भगवानको मूर्तीहरु भेटाउन सक्छौ । तर हामीले कहिले सोच्या छौ कि ती मूर्तीहरु वास्तवमा भगवान नभई यस प्रकृतिमा बस्ने मानिसहरुकै अनेक रूपहरु हुन्।उदाहरणको लागि कालीको मूर्ती हेर्यौ भने त्यसमा हामीले अक्रोशले भरिएको महिलाको रूप हेर्न सक्छौ।तेस्तै हनुमानको मूर्तीलाई हेर्यो भने हामीले मानिस भित्रको अपार शक्ति हेर्न सक्छौ।तेस्तै गणेशलाई हेर्यौ भने जनावर र मानिस बीचको पारसपरिक सम्बन्धलाई हेर्न सक्छौ।तसर्थ हामीले ती मूर्तीहरुलाई फूल,अगरबत्ती,मिठाई,पैसा,इत्यादि चढ़ाएर पूजा गर्नु भन्दा राम्रो त्यस मूर्तीहरु बाट केहि सिक्न सक्यौ भने राम्रो हुन्थ्यो ।

हिन्दू सभ्यता

• म दीपावली मनाउछु तर लक्षमीलाई पूजा गर्दिन ।
• म होली मनाउछु तर शिवःलाई पूजा गर्दिन ।
• म किताब पढ़छु तर सरस्वतीलाई पूजा गर्दिन ।
• म छठ मनाउछु तर छठीमैयालाई पूजा गर्दिन ।
• म भाईटिका मनाउछु तर दूर्गाको पूजा गर्दिन ।
• म हिन्दू सभ्यतालाई मान्छु तर हिन्दू देवीदेवतालाई पूजा गर्दिन ।

काल्पनिक पात्रहरु

ब्रहमा,बिष्णु, काली, सरस्वती, दुर्गा, लक्ष्मी, हनुमान, गणेश, इत्यादि सबै हिन्दू धर्मंमा राखिएको  काल्पनीक (imaginary) पात्रहरु हुन् जसलाई आँखा चिम्लेर मान्नु भनेको मूर्खता मात्र होला।यदि मेरो कुरो मान्नु हुन्छ भने जसरी कुनै कथा पढ्दा तपाई त्यस कथाको पात्र भन्दा बढ़ी मुख्य भाव माथि जोड़ दिनूहुन्छ, त्यसरी नै हिन्दू धर्मंमा राखिएका ती पात्रहरुलाई जोड़ नदिइकन दिनखोजेको मुख्य भाव वा आशय माथि अलि बढ़ी जोड़ दिइयो भने हाम्रो मानव सभ्यताको बिकास चाढै हुन्छ भने भन्न सकिन्छ।

→उनीहरुमा एकता हुने प्रमुख कारण यो हो की उनीहरुको धर्ममा एउटा मात्रै भगवान(GOD) छ जसको कारणले ऊनीहरुमा लगभग सबैको सोच मिल्ने गर्दछ । तर हाम्रो हिन्दू धर्ममा तेस्तो छैन । हाम्रो हिन्दू धर्ममा ३३ करोड़ देवीदेवताहरु छन् जसमा मान्छेको आफ्नो इच्छा र काम अनुसार अफ्नो लागि भगवान छान्न पाइन्छ ।कसैले भन्छ की म शिवः लाइ मान्छु त कसैले भन्छ की म कृष्ण लाई मान्छु त कसैले भन्छ की म बिश्वकर्मा लाई मान्छु त कसैले भन्छ की म गणेश लाई मान्छु त कसैले भन्छ की म काली लाई मान्छु इत्यादि...। यो के हो ? के यसले हाम्रो समाजलाई खण्डित पारेको छैन र ? एकपल्ट सोचनुस् त ? तसर्थ यदि हामी हिन्दू एकआपसमा एकता चाहन्छौ भने ३३ करोड़ देवीदेवताहरु बाट हामीलाई एउटा भगवानमा झर्नु आबश्यक छ । त्यसको लागि हिन्दू धर्मलाई एकपल्ट फेरीदेखि राम्ररी डिज़ाइन गर्नु पर्ने हुन्छ नत्र भने दिन्हुदिन हिंदुहरुको संख्या घट्दै जान्छ र अन्त्यमा हिन्दू धर्म सबैको लागि एउटा मजाक को पात्र मात्र हुदैन भने भन्न सकिदैन ।
